The merger of the Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont CPA societies will create the New England Society of CPAs, effective July 1, 2026.
This merger delivers direct benefits to you while preserving what matters most: local advocacy, local relationships and state-specific priorities.
Below is a clear look at what stays local, what you can expect in the first year, and how this benefits you.
What Stays Local (and Why That Matters)
State-based advocacy remains state-led.
NH’s legislative, regulatory and professional priorities will continue to be identified and advanced locally. Advocacy will remain focused on the issues that directly affect you, your clients and business and your community.
Local leadership and relationships continue.
Each state will maintain dedicated leadership and staff roles to preserve local voice, relationships and accountability. You will continue to work with people who understand your state’s environment and professional landscape.
Local engagement doesn’t go away, but it’s strengthened.
State-level programs, networking and outreach will remain central, supported by greater organizational capacity behind the scenes.
Your licensure and regulatory process is unchanged.
Licensing will continue to be handled by the New Hampshire Board of Public Accountancy.
Your dues stay the same.
Your dues will not change for the Fiscal Year 2027 membership year. Your NHSCPA membership will automatically roll over into the new organization.

- More roundtables and peer discussion groups
- Greater opportunity to learn from colleagues across firm sizes, industries and career stages
Your network grows in the first year, giving you access to more peers, deeper expertise and shared solutions while still staying rooted in your local community.
